Birthday shock for Jelena Karleuša — new Instagram profile suspended hours after celebration
After a family surprise in a Senjak villa, the singer’s newly activated Instagram account vanished within hours, continuing a prolonged dispute with Meta.
Balkan pop star Jelena Karleuša marked her 48th birthday with a lavish private celebration, but the party mood turned sour when her newly created Instagram account was suspended only hours after she returned to the platform.
The intimate evening in a villa on Senjak included an emotional surprise arranged by her daughters, Atina and Nika. The family gathered around bouquets and gifts; Nika presented a hand-painted portrait and an affectionate letter that reduced her mother to tears. In the video captions, Atina wrote, “I love you the most.”
In her letter Nika wrote: “Dear mom, happy birthday! You are the strongest person in the world. The way you fought hate and injustice is something not everyone could do. I admire the person you are, how you spread love and your sense of humor. There will never be another Jelena Karleuša, because you are truly extraordinary and special. You are one in a billion, or rather, in infinity!”
Glamour and a sudden digital blackout
Photos shared by Atina captured Karleuša in an eye-catching pink corset, a very short skirt and a constant glass of champagne, completed with gold jewelry, sunglasses indoors and a small Chanel bag — a styling that generated immediate attention on social media.
Exactly at midnight the singer activated a fresh Instagram account, posted several promotional images tied to her albums Alfa and Omega, and gained tens of thousands of followers within hours. The new profile followed only three accounts: her two daughters and a fan page. By morning, however, the account had become inaccessible and disappeared from the platform.
The suspension is the latest episode in Karleuša’s long-standing troubles with Meta. At the start of 2025 her main Instagram profile, which had more than 2.4 million followers, was removed. After several failed attempts to restore that account, the birthday comeback lasted only a few hours. There has been no official confirmation whether the latest block resulted from coordinated reports by bots or from a technical issue.
