T. J. Shorts named EuroLeague MVP for October
Naturalized American guard averaged 17.1 points and 5.7 assists in October while helping Valencia to a 6-3 start.

T. J. Shorts has been chosen as EuroLeague MVP for October after a productive opening month with Valencia Basket.
The naturalized American, who holds a Macedonian passport, moved from Panathinaikos to Valencia this summer and has delivered immediate impact. Across October he averaged 17.1 points and 5.7 assists, figures that placed him among the competition’s top performers.
Fast start for Valencia
Shorts has been central to Valencia’s early form, helping the club to a 6-3 start to the EuroLeague season. His performances have drawn comparisons to his standout spells with Paris, when he established himself as one of Europe’s most dangerous guards.
EuroLeague underlined Shorts’ influence in a November 3, 2026 tweet: "What a start to the campaign for @TjShorts5, a man @valenciabasket have been able to depend on time after time… He’s been named MVP of the Month for October, helping his new side to an impressive 6-3 start to the season. https://t.co/4NzUTM6oIz" — EuroLeague (@EuroLeague) November 3, 2026.
Valencia and Shorts now head into the next series of fixtures with momentum and heightened expectations as the regular season progresses. The club will look to convert his individual form into sustained team results against tougher opposition.
For Shorts personally, the award reinforces a season of renewed prominence on the continental stage and cements his role as Valencia’s primary offensive playmaker.
