Timcho Mucunski: "We stand with Ukraine, borders cannot be changed by force"

Timcho Mucunski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia, is on an official visit to Ukraine where he met his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha.
During their meeting, Mucunski reiterated his country’s firm support for Ukraine and underscored the principled stance of Skopje on respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law.
Diplomatic message and visit goals
The visit, described by officials as an effort to strengthen bilateral ties, included talks on political cooperation and regional security. Mucunski emphasized North Macedonia’s backing for Ukraine amid ongoing tensions in the region.
Both ministers discussed avenues for deeper diplomatic and economic cooperation, and exchanged assessments of the security situation. The meetings aimed to signal solidarity and explore practical ways to support Ukraine within international frameworks.
Skopje’s minister stressed that borders cannot be changed by force and said the international legal order must be upheld — a message intended for both partners and the wider diplomatic community.
Delegations on both sides agreed to maintain contact and continue dialogue after the conclusion of the official visit.
