Around 150 Torcida members attacked Ajax supporters on Split's Riva despite police protection; 32 people were detained.

Around 150 members of Torcida attacked a group of Ajax supporters on the Riva promenade in Split on the evening before the clubs met at Poljud, in an incident that forced police to step in despite a visible security presence.
Arrests and weapons found
The clash on the Riva escalated a few hours before the Conference League fixture between Hajduk Split and Ajax Amsterdam scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 18:45. During the incident, projectiles and pyrotechnics were thrown and the confrontation lasted for some time before officers intervened.
Split police detained a total of 32 people during Tuesday and Wednesday nights, including 19 foreign and 13 Croatian nationals. At the Riva, among a group of Ajax supporters, authorities discovered knives, stones and other objects suitable for attacking. The court decided on those measures.
Police blocked access to the Riva and deployed additional units to prevent further escalation. Published videos show arrests and the presence of intervention teams and special police units at several locations across the city.
With the match taking place at the Poljud Stadium, attention has shifted to the security situation in Split and any further updates that local police may release in the hours after the disturbances.
