Tottenham in trouble after €350m spending spree — two Premier League defeats and no goals
Tottenham have spent €350 million this summer but have lost their first two Premier League matches without scoring.

Tottenham Hotspur face an alarming start to the Premier League season after failing to score in their opening two matches and conceding five goals, despite spending €350 million in the summer transfer window.
The heavy investment this summer has done little to steady Roberto De Zerbi's side: Spurs were beaten 3-0 by Brentford in the opening round and, on Friday evening at their home ground, suffered a 0-2 defeat to Newcastle United.
Match details and scorers
Newcastle's goals arrived in the second half — Elanga struck in the 62nd minute and Visa doubled the lead in the 72nd. Tottenham could not find a response and remain without a goal after two league fixtures.
The sequence of results leaves growing concern around De Zerbi's project and squad cohesion so far this season. The contrast between the club's transfer outlay and on-pitch returns has been stark in front of supporters.
Tottenham will look to arrest the slide in the next round of fixtures when they travel to Nottingham Forest.
