Trump: Voting in the US is corrupt, he compares counting speed with Brazil

US President Donald Trump said on social media that voting in the United States is corrupt and compared the pace of counting in America to the speed of results from Brazil’s election.

How Trump framed the comparison

Trump pointed to Brazil’s first round, where 125 million citizens voted and results were published shortly after polling stations closed — on the same day. In his post he contrasted that speed with delays in several American locations.

He specifically mentioned Detroit, Philadelphia, California and other US cities and states, arguing that in those places it can take weeks to "fix", that is, to tally results even when far fewer ballots are involved. "Voting in America is corrupt," Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social.

The post also noted the Brazilian contest’s progression: Jair Bolsonaro is in the runoff of Brazil’s presidential election.

Trump’s remarks reiterate his long-standing criticism of US vote counting procedures and highlight his comparison to Brazil’s faster reporting of results, without providing additional evidence in the post itself.
