Trump mentioned Joe Biden nearly 900 times this year

Donald Trump has mentioned Joe Biden by name nearly 900 times so far this year, making his successor the recurring focus of attacks as Republicans battle to hold Congress in the November midterm elections.

According to a review of public remarks, posts and interviews, Trump has invoked Biden on average about three times a day — in speeches, comments and on Truth Social — linking him repeatedly to a range of issues from inflation and immigration to shortages of ammunition, even while Biden has largely stepped back from public life.

Where the mentions concentrate

Since January 1, Trump has named Biden at least 890 times, across almost 200 events and interviews and roughly 190 Truth Social posts. He connected Biden to the economy at least 210 times, to immigration 168 times, and to foreign policy and national security 138 times, while also blaming him for a variety of domestic problems.

Trump has raised Biden’s name at a wide array of settings — from the premiere of Melania Trump’s film to the National Prayer Breakfast. At the NATO summit in Turkey in July he set a one-day high, mentioning Biden 16 times. He has accused Biden of causing a shortage of ammunition and of contributing to rising housing costs.

“The Democrats delivered you four years of disaster, chaos and death under sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump told loyal party members at the Republican convention in Dallas on September 9.

“Donald Trump always needs a target and it's better if it's a person rather than a party. He does it to distract from all the problems he is facing at the moment,” said Republican strategist Ryan Williams.

“Joe Biden is the worst president in American history, and President Trump clears up his mess every day and is making the U.S. stronger than ever,” said White House spokeswoman Olivia Welles.
