Trump says Strait of Hormuz has been cleared of mines
Trump said US forces are monitoring the Strait of Hormuz and warned Iran that any vessel laying new mines would be destroyed.

President Donald Trump announced that all mines in the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz have been detonated or removed, and warned that any vessel that lays new mines will be destroyed.
Trump says the US is watching the waterway closely
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the United States, "through its Space Force," is monitoring every square centimetre of the strait, which he described as a vital sea lane in the global energy supply chain.
"The zero-tolerance policy toward laying mines is fully in effect," Trump said.
The president's message comes amid ongoing attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, even though the two sides have not been striking each other's military forces from the air for several weeks. Both Washington and Tehran continue to contest control of the narrow passage.
Preliminary data from vessel-tracking company Vortexa show that five million barrels of oil were transported through the strait on Monday, a steep decline from more than 20 million barrels per day before the war.
