Jan Diomande's move to Real Madrid stalled amid dispute between his agents

03.08.2026 — The proposed transfer of RB Leipzig winger Jan Diomande to Real Madrid has been delayed after a dispute between his current and former agents prompted a complaint to FIFA.

According to the paperwork now under review, the agency that previously represented the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, Maxidel Management, alleges that Roc Nation — the agency currently handling Diomande and negotiating with Real — violated the terms of a representation agreement.

Temporary licence and financial clarity

One solution being discussed is granting the player a temporary licence that would allow the move to proceed while FIFA determines the precise amounts owed to different intermediaries. Both clubs are said to favour transparency: paying commissions to an unauthorised or disputed agent could expose them to sanctions.

Earlier reports put the potential fee from Real Madrid to Leipzig at up to €135 million, including add-ons and bonuses, a figure that has raised scrutiny given the agent dispute.

For now, the finalisation of the transfer depends on how quickly FIFA can examine the complaint and clarify which parties are entitled to fees. The process has left Diomande’s immediate future in sporting limbo while clubs and agents await a ruling.
