The Center for Crisis Management (CCM) reported that by 13:00 on 10 August 2026 authorities had registered a total of seven fires in open areas across the country. Of those, three remained active, two were under control and two had been extinguished.
Locations and status of the fires
Active fires were recorded in the Municipality of Shtip — the village of Lakavica (low vegetation); in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod — a place called Viduš, near the village of Dragov Dol (dry grass, low-stemmed forest and shrubs); and at the Krivolak military training ground in the Municipality of Negotino (low vegetation).
Two fires were reported as under control: near the exit of Kriva Palanka (dump) in the Municipality of Kriva Palanka, and at the city dump in the Municipality of Delchevo (dump). Two other blazes were already extinguished — on the road in front of REK Bitola in the Municipality of Novaci (low vegetation), and at the Kula area in the Municipality of Veles (low-stemmed sparse forest and dry grass).
The CCM provided the tally and locations as part of its routine updates; emergency teams and local services remained mobilized at the active sites. Authorities reminded the public to avoid open burning and to report any new signs of fire immediately.
Further updates will follow as fire crews assess containment and any damage at the affected sites.
