Three people died after a private helicopter crashed and caught fire on the Greek island of Sifnos, emergency services said.

The aircraft went down near the heliodrome in the northern part of the island at approximately 18:17. Rescuers discovered the bodies while extinguishing the blaze; the identities of the victims remain unknown.

Unofficial information indicates the helicopter belonged to a private company that operates air-taxi services.
