Tri pati na den premiered "Pesna za angelot" at Makfest in tribute to Toshe Proeski

Veteran rock group Tri pati na den returned to the Makfest stage this year with a deeply emotional tribute to Toshe Proeski that moved the audience. The band — now performing with a changed lineup — presented a new composition titled "Pesna za angelot" that festivalgoers singled out as one of the most affecting moments of the edition.

Tribute born from pandemic memories

The lyrics and music for "Pesna za angelot" were written by Nikola Donovski during the pandemic, the band said, and the arrangement carries the signature of Ilija Kjoshevski. The song draws on memories of Proeski's voice and generosity and was performed with a level of intensity that many attendees described as heartfelt.

On stage in Shtip, Tri pati na den combined the new material with the kind of raw rock energy that has kept them on the Macedonian scene for decades. Even with personnel changes, the group remains identified with its hometown and with a catalogue that includes the long-standing hit "Tanja."

The performance was received warmly by the audience, who responded to both the music and the tribute to Proeski — an artist whose voice and legacy continue to inspire songwriters and performers across the country.

Tri pati na den first rose to wide attention when their song "Tanja" was performed at Makfest in 1992 with then-singer Emil Kanavaro. Their new dedication demonstrates how Proeski's memory keeps resurfacing in contemporary Macedonian music.
