Three Sudanese migrants found hidden in truck cargo in Skopje
Customs branch Skopje 1 found them during inspection of goods shipped from China and sealed in Thessaloniki; migrants transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Customs officers from the Customs branch Skopje 1 discovered three illegal migrants from Sudan hidden inside the cargo of a truck during a detailed inspection of a shipment declared for import customs.
Inspection uncovered people concealed among boxes
The cargo was declared as goods originating from China. According to the customs report, the truck had been loaded at the port of Thessaloniki and sealed with a Greek seal before entering the country.
Customs officers say the three Sudanese nationals cut the rope in the front cargo compartment of the truck and hid among boxes of merchandise. They were found when the shipment underwent the detailed control.
"This is the fourth case of discovered illegal migrants in the past three months," the Customs Administration said.
After they were located, the three migrants were handed over to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for further processing.
