Three people assault family from Gostivar area in Dolna Matka after argument over boat ride
Ministry of Internal Affairs says a woman from Negotino, Gostivar reported that she, her husband and daughter were attacked by three people after a dispute over a boat ride.
A family from the Gostivar area was physically attacked in the Dolna Matka recreation area after an argument about a boat ride, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
"On 23.08.2026 at 11:30 a.m. at the Skopje Police Department, V.S.(47) from the village of Negotino, Gostivar, reported that at 10:30 a.m. in the village of Dolna Matka, after a prior argument with an employee of the complex about a boat ride, she, her husband and their daughter were physically attacked by three persons," the Ministry said.
Police say investigation is under way
The report indicates the victim filed the complaint at the Skopje police station roughly an hour after the incident. Authorities say the incident began with a dispute with an employee of the leisure complex over the use of a boat.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that measures are being taken to clarify the case and establish all the circumstances surrounding the attack. No further details on injuries or arrests were released in the initial statement.
Dolna Matka, a riverside recreational area near Skopje where boat rides are offered, drew attention after the incident; police personnel from the Skopje department are handling the enquiry and working to identify and locate the persons involved.
