Three from Blace arrested at North Macedonia–Kosovo border; two vehicles seized
On 31 July 2026 police stopped two vehicles and detained three men from Blace; seized vehicles and smuggled goods were taken for evidence.
Three people from the village of Blace were detained near the North Macedonia–Kosovo border after police discovered them loading smuggled goods into two vehicles, the Interior Ministry said.
Police intercepted a Mercedes Vito and an unregistered Hyundai
The arrests happened late on 31 July 2026 near the border line between the village of Blace and Hani i Elezit, where officers stopped a Mercedes Vito light commercial vehicle with Skopje plates and a passenger Hyundai that had no registration plates.
"On 31.07.2026 at around 23:00 hours, police officers from the Regional Center for Border Affairs North, acting on an Operational Plan to prevent, detect and apprehend people who commit smuggling across the state border, in the area of the village of Blace, specifically on the border line between Blace and Hani i Elezit, deprived of liberty N.B. (27), H.B. (26) and E.Dž. (21), all from Blace. The vehicles and the goods were seized, a public prosecutor was notified and after documenting the case appropriate charges will be filed," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
Police seized both vehicles and the cargo the suspects were handling. The three detained men are from Blace and will be questioned while investigators complete documentation of the case.
Authorities notified the public prosecutor and said formal charges will be submitted after the investigation is finalised. No additional details about the type or quantity of the seized goods were released immediately.
