A 27-year-old man from Skopje was arrested on September 1, 2026, after his 21-year-old wife filed a complaint alleging he assaulted her at their home and later took her to a forested area near Skopje where he tied her to a tree and attacked her with a blunt object.
The arrest took place at 20:40, when police officers acting on the woman's report detained the suspect. Authorities said the case remains under investigation while they collect evidence and statements.

In a police bulletin officers wrote: "On 01.09.2026 at 20:40 in Skopje, police officers from the Skopje Police Department detained Lj.F.D. (27) from Skopje, acting on a prior complaint from his 21-year-old wife that he physically assaulted her in the family home, and later took her to a forested area near Skopje, where he tied her to a tree and attacked her with a blunt object. After full documentation of the case, an appropriate criminal complaint will follow."
Investigators have not released additional details about the victim's injuries or whether medical attention was provided. Police said they will file criminal charges once documentation is complete.
