Customs deputy director arrested on suspicion of taking more than €15,000 in bribes
Imeri is suspected of soliciting and accepting marked cash tied to a Customs Administration tender.
Dzever Imeri, employed at the Customs Administration as deputy director of the Administration Sector, was arrested on suspicion of soliciting and accepting a bribe of more than €15,000 linked to a tender within the Administration.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the Bureau for Public Safety, provided marked cash that was handed to the suspect as part of the operation.
Attempted flight after the handover
After taking the money, Imeri allegedly failed to comply with police orders and attempted to flee the scene. Following investigative measures and police actions, officers located him and deprived him of his liberty.
Authorities have so far not published further details about the case or the next steps in the procedure.
The arrest concerns an internal tender at the Customs Administration; prosecutors and police continue procedural actions to clarify the full circumstances.
