Dr Hannah Terry found dead at home; husband arrested and charged

Dr Hannah Terry, a physician who served members of the British royal household, has been found dead at her family home near the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, police said.

Her husband, Mark Keane (45), was arrested shortly after the discovery and has been formally charged with her murder, Norfolk police confirmed.

What authorities say

Prosecutor Jackie Hanlon told the court that emergency crews were called in the early hours of Sunday. On arrival they found Dr Terry unconscious and not breathing in a bedroom on the upper floor; she was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have stated that the couple’s three young sons were in the house at the time of the incident. Officers and prosecutors say the investigation is ongoing and details are being progressed through the criminal courts.

The family issued an emotional statement asking for privacy. "We are shattered by the loss of our beautiful Hannah. She was kind, generous and full of love — a beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend. We are immensely proud of the woman she was and of the enormous care she gave to all her patients," they said.

Dr Terry was part of a small team of doctors who routinely provided care to members of the royal family during their stays at the Sandringham estate. King Charles and Queen Camilla were reported to have been notified of the death.
