A student and a female school employee were wounded in a knife attack at a high school in Zagreb, authorities said. The incident took place in the Voltino neighbourhood shortly after 8 a.m., and the alleged attacker — another student — was detained by police.
Police statement and initial details
Police confirmed that one student armed with a sharp object injured another pupil and a woman who works at the school. Officials have not yet provided information about the severity of the victims' injuries.
Local media reported that the attacker was wearing a "balaclava" during the assault. Law enforcement officers arrived on the scene and took the suspect into custody.
School staff and emergency services treated the wounded at the scene before arranging transport to medical facilities. The school remained closed to the public while police secured the area and began an investigation.
