UEFA released the fixture list for the 2026–27 Champions League group stage on 29 August 2026, setting several high-profile matches for the opening round.
Big names meet in the first three matchdays
The competition opens on 8 September with Real Madrid hosting Inter at the Santiago Bernabéu, while Porto will welcome Manchester City at Estádio do Dragão.
On 9 September Liverpool will play Atlético Madrid at Anfield, a repeat of last season’s dramatic encounter when the English side prevailed 3:2. In the same time slot Barcelona are scheduled to host Feyenoord, and Napoli will face Arsenal.
Matches on 10 September include Bayern Munich starting their campaign at home against Bodo/Glimt, and Manchester United travelling to take on Sabah.
The opening round promises several eye-catching pairings, signalling an intense start to Europe’s premier club competition and raising expectations for an entertaining group stage.
