UHMR warns of possible severe storms this evening across several parts of the country, including Skopje
Meteorologists warn of heavy rain, thunder and gusty winds this afternoon and evening, with localized risk of hail and strong winds — Skopje included.

The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) has warned that isolated but intense thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and into the evening in several parts of the country, accompanied by heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.
UHMR said that in some locations these processes could become more intense, with a risk of severe storms producing strong to very strong winds and hail; the alert specifically includes the Skopje Basin.
What to expect and recent heat
Today the thermometer in Gevgelija reached 39.9 degrees Celsius. UHMR’s forecast indicates that tomorrow will not bring much relief and temperatures are expected to remain relatively high across the country.
On Thursday maximum temperatures are forecast to range between 31 and 39 degrees Celsius.
A video circulating from the Prilep area shows hail devastating tobacco crops, with the heaviest damage reported around Debreshte.
Authorities and UHMR advise residents in exposed areas to secure loose objects, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours, and follow local emergency guidance if storms develop.
