Ss. Cyril and Methodius University opens applications for 2026/2027 — 8,851 places available
UKIM opens the first application round on 18–19 August; the university offers 8,851 places for the 2026/2027 intake.
The Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM) has announced the opening of applications for new students for the 2026/2027 academic year, which will start on 1 October 2026. Across its 23 faculties there are 8,851 places available for incoming students.
Of the total 8,851 openings, 4,395 are reserved as state‑funded quota places (regular students financed from the state budget), 3,621 are for regular students who co‑finance their studies (tuition‑paying), and 835 are for part‑time (extramural) students.
The largest intake is planned at the Medical Faculty with 950 places, followed by the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FINKI) with 800. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEIT) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering each offer 600 places. Other allocations include the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (626), the Faculty of Economics (655), the Faculty of Law (555), the Faculty of Philosophy (635) and the Faculty of Philology (805).
State‑quota students enroll by paying a study fee of 200 euros in denar equivalent. Students in the co‑financing quota and part‑time students pay tuition of 400 euros.
Key dates and application procedure
The first application window is on 18 and 19 August 2026. The final ranking list will be published on 27 August, and enrollment for admitted candidates will take place on 3 and 4 September. A second application period is scheduled for 10 and 11 September, and a third on 23 September at faculties that still have available places.
Before applying in the announced deadlines, every interested candidate must register at www.upisi.ukim.mk and complete the electronic application through the iKnow system. The number automatically issued by the electronic registration system must be entered on the paper application submitted at the time of enrollment. Applications are submitted to the student affairs office of the chosen faculty.
The university's public announcement (konkurs) details the conditions and criteria for enrollment, the documents required, the selection procedure, and explains how points are calculated from overall secondary‑school grades and results on the state matura or state vocational/art matura. It also contains a list of external and internal state‑matura subjects that are appropriate for application to UKIM study programmes.
