Admission quotas, fees and biggest intake
Of the 8851 available places, 4395 are reserved for students in the state quota (regular students funded from the state budget), 3621 for regular students who co‑finance their studies by paying tuition, and 835 for part‑time (extramural) students.
Students admitted on the state quota must pay an enrolment contribution of 200 euros in denar equivalent, while students in the co‑financing quota and part‑time students pay tuition of 400 euros.
The largest number of places is offered by the Faculty of Medicine (950 places), the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering — FINKI (800), the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies — FEIT and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (600 each), the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (626), the Faculty of Economics (655), the Faculty of Law (555), the Faculty of Philosophy (635) and the Faculty of Philology (805).
Education Minister Vesna Janevska said that the total number of places across universities was reduced by about 2000 this year following a labour‑market analysis. She noted that some professions are already saturated and face unemployment, while other fields show high employability and even shortages.
