Saint Petersburg targeted in overnight drone strikes; oil terminal hit
Pulkovo Airport restricted operations after overnight drone strikes; an oil terminal burned but authorities report no casualties.

Ukrainian forces carried out an overnight drone strike on Saint Petersburg and parts of Leningrad Oblast, the regional governor said, with local air defenses claiming to have shot down 126 unmanned aerial vehicles over the area.
Operational impact and airports
Pulkovo Airport imposed temporary operational restrictions and, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), passengers and staff were moved to secure locations while authorities assessed damage and safety risks.
Local officials reported that one of the struck sites was an oil terminal inside the city. The terminal caught fire and emergency crews were engaged in extinguishing the blaze; regional authorities added that there were no reported casualties so far.
The governor of Leningrad Oblast, Aleksandr Drozdenko, confirmed the scale of the defensive response and said multiple incidents of damage to civilian infrastructure were registered across four city districts.
Russian air defenses in the region said they intercepted a large number of incoming drones. Authorities continue damage assessments and emergency services remain on alert as investigations proceed.
There has been no official comment here on any military rationale for the strikes. Officials are monitoring transport nodes and energy facilities for further risks and updating the public through regional channels.
