About 650 drones struck the Moscow region overnight, mayor says
Russian authorities said most of the roughly 650 incoming drones were intercepted; Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin provided the tally on Telegram.

Russian officials reported that Ukraine struck the Moscow region overnight with roughly 650 drones, causing alarm across the capital and prompting emergency responses from air-defence units.
Mayor posts details on Telegram
“Most were destroyed by long-range air defence, while 105 drones were destroyed as they approached the Russian capital,” wrote Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin on Telegram. His post was the most concrete public count released so far.
Authorities said the intercepts were carried out during the night and that the majority of incoming unmanned aerial vehicles did not reach central Moscow. The incident caused heightened activity by air-defence forces and emergency services in the region.
There has been no independent confirmation of the full scale of damage or of any casualties. Officials and local authorities continue to monitor the situation and investigate where drones originated and how they penetrated Russian defences.
The attack is one of the larger drone salvos reported in the conflict, drawing immediate responses from municipal and national security agencies as they seek to assess material damage and civilian risk.
