At least three people have been killed and 13 others — including children — injured after debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle fell in the resort settlement of Arkhipo‑Osipovka on Russia’s Black Sea coast, Russian authorities said.
Local officials said the incident occurred close to a residence that media associate with Russian President Vladimir Putin near Gelendzhik, but it was not immediately clear whether that site was the target or whether the drone had been aimed elsewhere.
Official account and visual evidence
Governor Veniamin Kondratyev told regional authorities that Ukrainian drones struck civilian infrastructure and that emergency crews are working at locations where pieces of the aircraft were recovered. “These claims have not yet been independently confirmed,” local statements added.
Video shared on social media shows, according to the posts, an object falling near people on a beach followed by an explosion; the footage could not be independently verified.
Emergency services have been deployed to the scene; investigators will need to determine the drone’s origin, the intended target and whether the casualties resulted from falling debris or a direct hit.
