Real Madrid issues ultimatum to Vinícius: Sign or leave

Real Madrid's leadership has given Vinícius Júnior a clear ultimatum after months of negotiations over a new contract: accept the club's final offer immediately or be placed on the transfer list this summer. The club has told the player and his agents it will not improve the proposal.

Club officials have decided to end the uncertainty around one of their main stars and sent a straightforward message to Vinícius’s representatives: either sign the presented terms or the club will start the sale process. The move is intended to avoid a situation in which the forward enters the final year of his deal and could leave at the end of the season without a fee.

Board sets wage ceiling despite player's status

Although Real Madrid still considers Vinícius a key player deserving a high salary, the board has imposed a wage ceiling it does not intend to exceed. The aim, the club says, is to protect the internal pay structure, preserve financial stability and maintain balance in the dressing room.

The decision was accelerated by two factors: the club's wish to resolve the player's status swiftly, and growing interest from Arsenal in the Brazilian forward. That external attention has reduced the margin for delay in reaching a resolution.

Pressure on Vinícius is also increasing because of the imminent arrival of Diomande, an Ivorian winger who can operate on both flanks. With that signing, coach José Mourinho would gain a quality alternative and the team's dependence on the Brazilian would be lower. If Vinícius refuses to renew but stays, he could face a season with minimal playing time.

Vinícius and his team now face three options: accept Real Madrid's final offer, agree to a transfer this summer, or remain at the club and risk limited minutes next season. The choice rests with the player and his representatives.
