Hungary 0–1 Ukraine in Budapest — late on-pitch clash after red card
A 42nd-minute header by Danylo Sikan decided the match, while a 92nd-minute red card led to a pitch-side confrontation.
Ukraine secured a 1–0 win over Hungary at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest in the opening round of the Nations League B, but the match ended with a heated on-pitch confrontation between players from both teams.
The decisive goal came in the 42nd minute when Danylo Sikan headed in a cross from Heorhii Sudakov. Hungary created several chances but could not find an equaliser despite lifting their intensity after the break.
Late red card and scuffle
Tensions boiled over in stoppage time. A 92nd-minute dismissal of Ukraine's Nazarenko triggered a clash between players. Dominik Szoboszlai and Viktor Tsyhankov came to blows and Milos Kerkez soon joined the argument. The incident quickly drew in other players and fans began throwing objects onto the pitch.
Match officials eventually separated the participants and Szoboszlai received a yellow card. Play resumed but Hungary failed to convert its late pressure into a goal.
The result leaves Hungary unable to overturn the 0–1 deficit, while Ukraine picked up an away victory in the Nations League B opener.
