Public presentation of draft DUP for Barutana on Vodno tomorrow in Centar Municipality

Centar Municipality will hold a public presentation tomorrow, 3 September, at 12:00 in municipal building Barka 6 for the draft detailed urban plan (DUP) J05 covering the area known as "Barutana" on the slopes of Vodno.

Exhibition and public consultation

The draft plan is on display at Koco Racin Primary School, where interested residents can review the proposed planning solutions and fill in survey forms on working days between 08:00 and 16:00.

The public consultation on the DUP is open until 14 September. Residents and legal entities within the plan area, as well as from neighbouring zones, may submit comments, proposals and opinions during the public survey.

Centar Mayor Goran Gerasimovski urged citizens to take part in the process. "I invite all interested citizens to come to tomorrow's public presentation, to get informed and to state their comments and proposals. We want the plans we adopt to be the result of an open and transparent process in which citizens have the opportunity to participate and express their views," he wrote on Facebook.

Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski, speaking to journalists after the launch of the first line of the City Train today, said the City of Skopje had already given an opinion on the plan last year under the previous city administration. "I convened a Commission for Urbanism and spoke with the members. If there is a legal remedy to react, we will do the same. In the coming period we will pronounce on this topic. But I must emphasize that the entire procedure is led by Centar Municipality and I have no details about that DUP. The City of Skopje gives only an opinion whether a specific DUP is in accordance with the parameters of the General Urban Plan (GUP). Those plans are neither adopted nor made by the City of Skopje," he said.

The local group Shansa za Centar has launched a petition calling for withdrawal of the draft DUP for Barutana. Centar officials encouraged residents to use the remaining time in the public survey to submit feedback and help shape future development in this part of the municipality.
