Vardar and GRK Ohrid meet in Super Cup opener in Gevgelija

The new handball season will be kicked off at the "26 April" hall in Gevgelija with the Super Cup match between Vardar and GRK Ohrid. The two sides arrive after meeting twice during pre-season preparations, turning this opener into a third decisive clash for silverware.

GRK Ohrid enters the encounter with recent psychological advantage: the lake-side team defeated the "red-blacks" at the Struga tournament and again in the event named "Krste Andonovski".

Expectations and line-ups

Both teams know each other well from the preparatory matches and coaches will have examined strengths and weaknesses on both sides. "We expect an intense and tough match. We will have to be careful to make as few mistakes as possible over 60 minutes if we want a result in our favor," said Adama Keita.

Vardar will not appear at full strength for this meeting: Milan Lazarevski and Jaka Malus are absent, along with several other important players. The match will be broadcast live on Arena Sport MK.

Coverage and commentary are scheduled on the Arena Sport MK feed; the Super Cup is the first official trophy on offer before the domestic league campaign gets fully under way.
