Vasil Tashovski: with playing time and performances I hope to reach North Macedonia's senior team

At 19, Vasil Tashovski has forced his way into the starting XI of Mladost Lučani and marked the opening weeks of the season with decisive contributions that have drawn attention beyond the Serbian league.

Teenager turns minutes into goals

Tashovski earned regular playing time at the beginning of the campaign and converted two important strikes in consecutive matches: a late winner against Zemun (0:1) and a goal in the 3:1 triumph over Partizan. The sequence has raised his profile and put him on a path many young players dream about.

“Thank you for remembering me. Thank you for the congratulations you have been sending. It really means a lot to me right now, because finally my hard work all these years is starting to pay off in the right way. Am I happy? How could I not be. I got a chance, I am using it and everything is going as it should at the moment. I hope it continues like this. The goals, the minutes? Everything is in the direction of my development. They are just an extra motivation to continue…,” says Vasil Tashovski.

Tashovski’s football education includes time in Čukarički’s youth system, a short spell at Partizan and first senior minutes at Napredak Kruševac, before moving to Mladost Lučani. Club staff and teammates, he says, have backed him through the transition to regular senior football.

“Not only me, the club is very satisfied with what is happening at the moment. On this occasion I would like to thank them for that. It really matters when someone openly supports me, gives me additional motivation and believes in me. I will repay them with the best I can,” Tashovski adds.

On the international front, Tashovski has already been called up to the North Macedonia U20s by coach Aleksandar Tanevski and made his debut. Asked about a potential senior national team call, he was cautious but ambitious.

“Regarding the national team, honestly, we have to see how things develop. I hope that with my recent performances I have turned attention to myself. A possible call to the senior national team is a serious matter, a big thing. I hope that will happen one day. Still, for such a major step in my career I will have to continue at this pace. To keep developing, to progress and to give my all, the best I can,” Tashovski says.
