Vasoski: A win over Vardar would mean a lot for Sileks

On 07.11.2026 at 13:00 local time Sileks will host Vardar at the stadium in Kratovo in a 13th-round Macedonian First League fixture that carries extra weight for the home side.

A victory and three points would bring the Kratovo club closer to the leaders on the table and could change the tone of their season after a difficult spell.

Aleksandar Vasoski, Sileks’ coach and a former Vardar manager, spoke ahead of the match and set out his expectations.

Vasoski: win could be a turning point

“Respect for Vardar, respect for the champion, but we have our own plans and ambitions. I hope for a good match from Sileks, and of course for a victory that would in a way be a turning point for us in the championship. After that bad run, in which we did not play badly but the problem was finishing, good results came and it would be great for us to meet the break with a win against Vardar,” Vasoski said.

“I hope the pitch will be good for a proper football spectacle; we preserved it as best we could. I also hope for fair refereeing, and we are very motivated. We must show that this Sileks deserves at least to fight for European qualification this season. Whatever happens, today’s match will not decide everything — there is still a lot to play — but as I said, it can be a turning point for us,” he added.
