Venezia name Davide Nicola as new head coach
Venezia replace Giovanni Stroppa after six opening defeats; Nicola signs through 30 June 2028.
Venezia have appointed Davide Nicola as their new head coach after a disastrous start to the season that left the club with six straight defeats.
Giovanni Stroppa was relieved of his duties late on the night of 15–16 October 2026, with Nicola stepping in to try to halt the slide.
Nicola has signed a deal that binds him to the club until 30 June 2028.
Background
Most recently Nicola was in charge of Cremonese; the Lombard club were relegated from Serie A at the end of last season.
“I am full of motivation and I can’t wait to return to the pitch. Let's embark on a rescue mission for Venezia,” Nicola said after his appointment.
