Late surge secures narrow victory
The German side had controlled much of the game and held a two-goal lead in the closing stages, but Wisla produced a decisive run in the final minutes, scoring three uninterrupted goals to turn the result around.
The winning goal for Wisla that made it 25–24 was scored by Kosorotov, delivering crucial points for the Polish club in a tight group that also contains Vardar.
Top scorer for the hosts was Bjer, who netted nine goals, while Melsungen relied on Stefansson for seven. The match offered a dramatic finale that kept qualification hopes alive for Wisla.
Wisla Plock are scheduled to travel to Skopje to face Vardar on 8 October, a clash that will have added significance after this result.
