Wizz Air carried 63.8% of passengers at Skopje Airport, 70% at Ohrid
Wizz Air accounted for nearly two-thirds of Skopje traffic and seven in ten passengers at Ohrid in January–September, TAV Macedonia figures show.

Data from TAV Macedonia show that the Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air transported the largest share of passengers at North Macedonia’s airports in the first nine months of the year: 63.8% at Skopje and 70% at Ohrid.
Concentration around low-cost operators
Between January and September the Skopje International Airport handled 3,065,692 passengers, an increase of 29.07% compared with the same period last year. Of those travellers, 63.8% flew with Wizz Air.
Behind Wizz Air in Skopje was Pegasus Airlines with a 9.4% share, followed by Turkish Airlines at 4.6%, its low-cost subsidiary AnadoluJet at 3.5%, and Austrian Airlines at 3.4% of carried passengers.
The Wizz Air share is even higher at Ohrid. Of the 265,993 passengers who used Ohrid “St. Paul the Apostle” Airport in the first nine months, 70% travelled with the Hungarian carrier.
The figures underline how traffic at North Macedonia’s international airports has come to rely heavily on low-cost carriers, with Wizz Air in a dominant market position during the January–September period.
