11 October state award 2026 presented in the Assembly — Venko Andonovski among recipients
The culture lifetime-achievement award went to writer and professor Venko Andonovski; three academics received the science and education prizes.

The Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia will present the 11 October state award for 2026 on 11 October 2026 at noon. The distinction is described as the highest recognition for lifetime achievement in science, the arts, the economy and other activities of public interest in the Republic of North Macedonia.
By decision of the committee in charge of the awards, the lifetime-achievement prize in the field of culture and the arts for 2026 was granted to the writer and university professor Venko Andonovski.
For lifetime achievement in science and education the committee named three recipients: the linguist Prof. Dr. Dimitar Pandev, university professor Gjulumser Kasapi, and Prof. Dr. Vlado Popovski, who holds a doctorate in historical-political and legal sciences.
Presentation during the country's 11 October commemorations
The 11 October award ceremony is being held as part of the day's official events. This year the date coincides with the 85th anniversary of the 11 October popular uprising.
The Assembly ceremony will formally hand over the awards at the announced time on 11 October 2026; the committee’s decisions list the winners by field and the official protocol for presentation will follow the Assembly’s agenda for the day.
