More heads will fall at Vardar; Janevski and Vasovski in contention for the bench

FK Vardar has ended its cooperation with coach Cristian Fabiani, after a turbulent period in which the club faced organizational problems and dissatisfaction from supporters.

The Argentine's departure had been long anticipated after it is said that indiscipline and general disorder prevailed at the club, and a large number of reinforcements brought in through his manager did not meet expectations. Among the names mentioned are Gerson Rodriguez, Puello, Pires, Torres and Castaneda.

The club confirmed it was ending the cooperation, but did not disclose how much it will pay for that or what penalties are envisaged. Fabiani had a three‑year contract, and it is speculated that his salary was €10,000 per month. There is also the problem of huge financial obligations due to long and expensive contracts that will need to be covered and whose responsibilities remain unclear.

Supporters demand changes at the top of the club

The supporters' group "Komiti" is calling for a broader reconstruction, stressing that the departure of Fabiani and his coaching staff is not enough. The main demand is the removal of Milenko Nedelkovski from the position of executive director of FK Vardar, because, as they say, monstrous conduct and poor policy have led to financial damage. The fans publicly point to shortcomings in transfer policy, inadequate preparations and suspicions of purchasing plane tickets through a company without a license for tourist activity.

Among supporters, Johan Tarchulovski is most frequently mentioned for the position of executive director. For the coaching job, the most serious options singled out are Chede Janevski and Aleksandar Vasovski — two Vardar "children" and coaches with long-standing contributions to the club's history. Chede Janevski is considered the person who could bring order and discipline and is known as the author of the club's greatest European success — reaching the group stage of the Europa League — and is also part of Vardar's golden generation that became Yugoslav champions in 1987.

Aleksandar Vasovski, currently coach of Sileks, during the "corona" period was part of Vardar's championship successes and is also highly rated. In May it was announced: "To have Vasovski, and you bring an expensive \"gaucho\" as coach" — a thought that fans often use to illustrate the difference between domestic and expensive foreign solutions.

The club now faces urgent sporting and financial challenges — the question of who will be held accountable for the signed expensive contracts and whether the management will reject the fans' demands for radical changes remains open. Rapid action is expected if there is to be a restoration of the connection with the supporter base and stabilization of the team before the new season.
