Human remains found on ship repaired in Varna after drone strike near Romania
A ship hit by a drone near Romania was brought to Varna for repairs, where badly damaged human remains were discovered and DNA tests ordered.

Bulgarian authorities have opened an investigation after human remains were found aboard a ship that had been struck by a drone near Romania and later taken to a repair yard in Varna.
The incident occurred in October, the vessel sailed under the flag of San Marino and there were no Bulgarian citizens among its crew. At the beginning of November the ship arrived at a shipyard in Varna for repairs.
Damage assessment led to grisly discovery
While teams were clearing and removing the damaged sections of the ship, investigators came across badly damaged human remains. Authorities ordered DNA examinations to determine the identity of the deceased.
The case is being handled under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Varna. Romanian authorities are also conducting a parallel investigation into the circumstances of the drone strike and the subsequent discovery.
Officials have not released further details about the identity of the deceased or about possible suspects; forensic and prosecutorial work is ongoing.
