Zagreb parents arrested after cannabinoids found in child
Hospital tests detected cannabinoids in a young child's blood; social services removed the child and prosecutors in Velika Gorica received a criminal complaint.

Zagreb police arrested a 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman after hospital tests found cannabinoids in the blood of their young child, authorities said.
Child removed and criminal complaint filed
The discovery was made when medical staff alerted police following routine toxicology tests. The parents are suspected of a "gross violation of the rights of the child," and a criminal complaint has been submitted to the Velika Gorica Prosecutor's Office.
Social services immediately took custody of the child and placed the youngster in a safe location outside the family while investigators pursue the case.
Police and welfare officials have not disclosed how the substances entered the child's system, nor have they released details about the child's current medical condition.
The arrested couple remains in police custody as prosecutors review the evidence and decide whether to pursue charges that could carry additional legal consequences if proven.
