Vodno gets motor skills park built from trees felled in storm
The City of Skopje turned healthy trunks from storm‑fallen trees into a motor skills course on Vodno; similar parks are planned for Gazi Baba and Saraj.

The City of Skopje has opened a new motor skills park on Mount Vodno built from the healthy trunks of trees that fell during the recent severe storm, city officials said this morning. The park features natural obstacles and equipment designed to improve balance, coordination, agility and overall physical fitness.
Children will be able to develop motor skills through play, while young people and adults gain an additional outdoor space for exercise, recreation and spending quality time in nature, the announcement added.
Material reuse and expansion plans
The wooden elements of the new facility were made from the sound trunks salvaged after the storm, turning what could have become waste into a public amenity. "The healthy trunks from the fallen trees have been given a new life and a new purpose — today they form a space filled with movement, energy and life," said Skopje mayor Orce Gjorgjievski.
City officials said similar motor skills parks will be built in the Gazi Baba park-forest and in Saraj.
At the same time, saplings are already being planted in places where the damaged trees were removed. The city also announced that a major autumn afforestation campaign will begin in the second half of September.
