Driver caught at 203 km/h on Skopje–Sveti Nikole motorway
Police used a LaserCam 4 to record a Mercedes at 203 km/h about 3 km before NS Preod; measures taken under the Law on Road Traffic Safety.

On October 7, 2026 at 16:00, police measuring speed on the Skopje–Sveti Nikole motorway recorded 203 kilometres per hour on a Mercedes with Skopje registration plates, the officers said. The measurement was made about 3 kilometres before the NS Preod section using a LaserCam 4 device.
The Mercedes was travelling outside a built-up area, where the maximum permitted speed is 130 km/h. The recorded speed therefore exceeded the limit by 73 km/h.
Authorities say appropriate measures were taken against the driver under the Law on Road Traffic Safety.
Traffic checks and public appeal
"Traffic checks will continue across the country in order to sanction offenders, increase road safety and protect all road users," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The ministry also urged all road users to respect traffic rules and adapt their speed to road conditions, noting that compliance helps make roads safer for everyone.
