Driver killed after car hit stray dogs and guardrail, burned on Ohrid–Kicevo road
On 2 September at about 23:30 a Hyundai Getz struck stray dogs, hit the guardrail and ignited; the driver was found dead and sent for autopsy.

A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on the Ohrid–Kicevo main road on the night of 2 September 2026, after the car struck stray dogs and then the metal guardrail and caught fire, police said.

The collision was reported at about 23:30 on 2 September. The vehicle, a Hyundai Getz registered in Ohrid, first hit stray dogs and then collided with the metal crash barriers along the road. The impact was followed by a fire that engulfed the car.
Firefighters from the Territorial Firefighting Unit Ohrid extinguished the blaze at the scene. The body of the driver was discovered inside the burned-out vehicle.
By order of the public prosecutor the body was handed over to Forensic Medicine for an autopsy and identification.
An on-site inspection was carried out by the public prosecutor and an investigative team from SVR Ohrid. During the probe, traffic on the Ohrid–Kicevo main road was rerouted via the regional Ohrid–Struga road.
Authorities continue to investigate the exact sequence of events that led to the crash and the subsequent fire.
