Vehicle breaches fence and enters Leipzig airport perimeter
Police say the damaged section is close to parked Russian Antonov cargo planes; area searched overnight with no unauthorised people found.

A section of the perimeter fence at Leipzig Airport in eastern Germany was damaged after a vehicle apparently forced its way into the airport grounds, a police spokesperson said.
The damaged patch is located close to a group of parked Russian Antonov cargo aircraft, the spokesperson added. The incident prompted a police operation during the night.
Area searched overnight, no unauthorised persons found
Police said officers carried out a full search of the airfield. "With a high probability that a vehicle breached the fence," the spokesperson said, and so far no unauthorised individuals have been located inside the airport perimeter.
Investigators are working to determine how the damage occurred and whether the vehicle was driven through intentionally or accidentally. Authorities have not reported any injuries or damage to the aircraft.
The case remains under investigation as police continue to secure the scene and gather evidence about the breach.
