Butel municipal staff rescue starving, injured dog found by river
Anima Mundi said the animal was found weak and with an old broken-leg injury and thanked municipal staff for their help.
Employees of Butel Municipality rescued a starving and injured dog that had been spotted moving helplessly beside a river, the animal-protection group Anima Mundi said.
"They found him in the river, powerless, starved and with an old injury from a broken leg. Someone could have just walked past him, but someone chose to stop. Today this dog received something he may never have had: a chance, care and hope. We cannot save them all, but those we do save, we give a new chance at life," Anima Mundi said.
The group said the dog was discovered weak and suffering from an old leg fracture. Municipal staff intervened and removed the animal from the riverbank, enabling immediate help.
Anima Mundi publicly thanked the Butel Municipality employees for acting selflessly and without hesitation to assist the animal.
The organisation said the rescue gave the dog an opportunity for recovery and a better future, underscoring that while not every animal can be saved, each successful rescue offers a new chance at life.
Local animal-protection volunteers are now coordinating care for the dog while monitoring its condition following the rescue.
