Second round in Brvenica: 16,256 voters set to vote tomorrow

Tomorrow voters in Brvenica head to the polls for the second round of the early mayoral election, where two candidates remain in the race. Today a special group is voting: the sick, the infirm and those serving prison sentences — 116 people are listed to cast ballots.

Where and who can vote

On election day voting will be held in 24 settlements across the municipality, and 16,256 registered voters are eligible to participate. Sixty-one accredited observers will follow the process: 56 domestic and 5 international.

The Ombudsman will keep a regional office in Tetovo open during voting so citizens can report any alleged violations of voting rights. Complaints may be filed in person at the office or by phone at 044/344-082.

Ombudsman: "The regional office in Tetovo will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., i.e. during the voting, so that citizens can report any violation of the right to vote. Reports can be submitted in person at the office or by phone at 044/344-082."

In the first round turnout was 46.56%. None of the six candidates reached the required majority, so the two highest‑placed candidates advanced to the runoff. The vote follows the death of the municipality's incumbent mayor in July of this year.

Authorities and observers will monitor the process throughout election day; voters with concerns about access or irregularities are encouraged to use the Ombudsman office or the provided telephone number.
