Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that he will submit his resignation as president of the Republic on September 27. He said he will address citizens that same evening and thank them for their support.

Vučić promises to continue campaigning as an ordinary citizen

In an interview with Pink, Vučić described the end of his presidential tenure and his plans afterward. "I was the president of the Republic for the longest time, and the only thing I can say is that I served Serbia and the citizens of this country faithfully… And then I go as an ordinary citizen, as before, I got a small truck, I have my own car, I also got a camper van, to visit villages and urban areas," he told Pink.

Vučić said he intends to travel to "the most remote places in Serbia" and to keep meeting people across the country. He said the programme will include several larger gatherings.

According to his announcement, he plans three or four major rallies to be held in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Niš, with the final meeting to take place in Niš.

The president framed the move as a transition from formal office to active grassroots outreach, saying he will continue to visit both rural and urban communities personally.
