Zajkova Demands Full Transparency on Payments to Arben Fetai

On July 30, 2026 the president of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Member of Parliament, Monika Zajkova, submitted official parliamentary questions to the Prime Minister requesting full transparency — denar by denar — for all funds paid to former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Fetai, who was subsequently appointed as the Governments "special envoy" in Brussels.

On the LDP website it states: "With the aim of institutional accountability for the case of ex-Deputy Prime Minister Fetai, and now 'special envoy' of the Government in Brussels, the president of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Member of the Assembly, Monika Zajkova, today moved into direct institutional action and submitted official parliamentary questions addressed directly to the Prime Minister regarding all paid denars and for accountability for selective justice."

What Zajkova Demands

The parliamentary question requests urgent written answers with the precisely defined number of days of unjustified absence, the exact amount of paid net and gross salary and paid contributions, as well as information on all representation expenses, official travel and per diems for him and for his cabinet.

The LDP places primary emphasis on responsibility for breaches of the law and on systemic selectivity in the application of rules. In the question Zajkova directly asks that it be clarified whether anyone has taken responsibility for approving and signing the payment of a salary to an official who publicly confirmed — and which the Government verified — that for months he had not come to the workplace.

The party also insists that the Government provide the official archival documents if there is a decision requiring Fetai to return the money to the state budget.

The LDP warns that it will not allow the case to end as "yet another swept-under-the-rug political deal" in which citizens face rigorous penalties while officials who boycott institutions receive a diplomatic position in Brussels. The party announces the continuation of its uncompromising fight to protect public funds and to clarify the circumstances of Arben Fetais appointment as special envoy.
