Zeekr 9X arrives in Europe: 897 hp and six luxury seats

Zeekr, the premium brand belonging to the Chinese group Geely, officially unveiled the European version of its largest and most luxurious SUV — the 9X — which brings the technology and interior comfort with which it aims to challenge European premium manufacturers.

Strong hybrid, high performance and fast charging

The 9X uses a Super Hybrid system: an electric architecture of 900 volts, a 55 kWh battery and two electric motors, complemented by a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine that functions as a generator. The total output is 660 kW, or 897 hp, and the drive is all-wheel drive.

The vehicle weighs approximately 2.9 tonnes, yet it accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h. Zeekr states an electric range of about 179 km, and with the petrol engine engaged the combined range increases to 737 km; the data are preliminary and will be confirmed during homologation.

The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in nine and a half minutes on a suitable DC charger thanks to the 900-volt architecture. The manufacturer says the European version receives localized software, homologation to European standards and service support through the official European network.

Dimensions: length 5,239 mm, wheelbase 3,169 mm and width of more than 2 meters. The interior offers six individual seats arranged 2+2+2; the front seats have 12-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage, while the second row has electric leg rests and can nearly lie flat. A refrigerator with adjustable temperature is built into the space between the seats.

A 17-inch OLED screen with 3K resolution is mounted on the roof; it lowers and can be moved so the image remains visible in any position. The Naim audio system contains 32 speakers, two subwoofers and eight tactile actuators. The cockpit console includes a 13-inch digital instrument panel, two linked 16-inch OLED displays and a 47-inch AR projection screen, but the key controls remain physical.

The driver assistance systems use roof-mounted LiDAR, Nvidia processors and an array of cameras and sensors, while the chassis gets adaptive air suspension with dual chambers and electronically controlled dampers. There are three standard modes — Comfort, Economy and Sport — and seven additional modes for different terrain conditions.

Practicality: trunk 677 liters (2,148 liters with the seats folded) and a towing capacity of up to two tons. Zeekr already operates in Croatia, but the 9X has not yet been confirmed for domestic sale, nor have prices and exact delivery dates been announced.

"The new Zeekr 9X is our answer to the new generation of luxury car buyers. Today, more than ever, they expect more from their vehicle, and the 9X is a direct response to these demands — it is designed in Europe for European roads," said the CEO of Zeekr Europe, Lotar Shupet.
