Zelenskyy: Since Trump 'truce' Russia has launched 76 attacks on Ukraine's energy sector
Zelenskyy says overnight strikes hit substations in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Odesa, leaving tens of thousands without electricity.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that since the “truce” declared last week by US President Donald Trump, Russia has carried out 76 attacks specifically targeting Ukraine’s energy sector.
Zelenskyy posted on X that power infrastructure was hit again overnight. "Just last night there were strikes on substations in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi and Odesa regions. Tens of thousands of households remain without electricity. Energy workers and field crews are working around the clock to restore power supply," he wrote.
Scope of the assaults
According to Zelenskyy, in the past week Russia launched almost 2,700 assault drones, 1,700 aerial bombs and 66 missiles, the majority of which were ballistic, and that energy facilities were among the primary targets.
He warned that the pattern points to a deliberate campaign to knock out power systems. "The Russians are trying to cause a complete blackout. The United States should see that Russia is not taking any reciprocal steps in response to sanctions easing or agreements. On the contrary, any sign of a chance to make money they take as proof that their commitment to war has paid off and that they can continue to fight. Russia must face pressure so that peace has a chance," Zelenskyy said.
Local repair teams and national energy crews are reportedly engaged in continuous restoration work after the latest strikes. The president’s message framed the attacks as a strategic effort to undermine civilian life and to test international resolve.
The claims and figures were published by Zelenskyy on X as part of his public updates about the conflict and its effect on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
