Zelensky: Russia struck Ukraine with North Korean missiles

Russian forces struck Ukrainian territory last night with missiles supplied by North Korea, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

In the attack on Zaporizhzhia, six people were killed and at least 19 were wounded, Mayor Rekhina Kharchenko said, adding that eight buildings were damaged.

Zelensky said the city was hit by North Korean ballistic missiles, Russian Zircon projectiles and by guided aerial bombs.

"It was an evil attack aimed at causing maximum damage, especially to civilian infrastructure," Zelensky said.

The strikes add to a pattern of heavy attacks on populated areas in the course of the war, and Kyiv has repeatedly warned of the growing variety of weapons being used against urban targets.

Authorities in Zaporizhzhia continue rescue and damage-assessment operations; further details about the strike and any investigations have not yet been announced.
